The Problem

As per the UNICEF-ITU report, a significant issue arises from the fact that a majority of school-age children, approximately two-thirds globally, lack access to the internet within their homes. What is even more concerning is that an astonishing 88% of children and young people between the ages of 3 and 17 remain unconnected at home.

The lack of internet connectivity disproportionately affects children and young individuals from economically disadvantaged households, rural areas, and lower income states. This further exacerbates the gap between these individuals and their more privileged peers, leaving them with limited opportunities to bridge this divide and catch up in terms of educational and developmental advancements

The Solution

Learn to Rise is a transformative initiative dedicated to reducing the digital divide by creating digital learning incubators. These incubators go beyond merely providing free access to computers, software, and internet; they aim to empower individuals by offering an extensive online library filled with an array of courses from trusted sources. By incorporating both hardware and educational resources, Learn to Rise ensures that economically challenged individuals have the tools they need to thrive in the digital age.

At the core of Learn to Rise’s mission is the belief that access to technology should not be a privilege but a fundamental right. By establishing digital learning incubators, the initiative is breaking down barriers and opening doors of opportunity for those who have been left behind. These incubators act as a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can explore a vast range of subjects and disciplines, gaining knowledge and skills that will propel them forward.

Vision

Our Vision is to create Equal Online Educational Opportunity for the economically disadvantaged students or individuals by providing free access to Digital Learning Infrastructure, which is the key to learn, compete and RISE in digital age. Our goal is to create a future where equal online educational opportunities become a reality for all, regardless of their socio-economic background.

We strive to empower economically disadvantaged students and individuals with the necessary tools, resources, and support to break free from the limitations imposed by their circumstances. By providing them with the means to learn, compete, and rise in the digital age, we believe that we can unlock a world of untapped potential and transform lives for the better.

Mission

Our mission is to establish Digital Learning Pods in villages and small towns, creating accessible hubs of educational empowerment. These pods serve as community centers that offer free access to a comprehensive digital learning infrastructure, encompassing essential resources such as computers, internet connectivity, software, and a vast array of online courses.

Within these Digital Learning Pods, individuals have access to state-of-the-art computers equipped with the latest software and tools necessary for digital literacy and skill development. High-speed internet connectivity ensures that learners can leverage online resources, connect with experts, and participate in interactive learning experiences. The extensive collection of online courses covers a diverse range of subjects, from academics to vocational skills, enabling learners to tailor their educational journey according to their interests and aspirations

The People behind the cause

Shyam is a passionate advocate for reducing the digital gap and ensuring equal access to technology and educational opportunities for economically challenged students. With 14 years of experience as an enterprise software engineer, Shyam possesses a deep understanding of the power of technology to transform lives and enhance educational outcomes.

Throughout his career and life, Shyam has witnessed firsthand the disparities in access to technology and the impact it has on students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Motivated by a desire to level the playing field and create equal opportunities for all, he took the initiative to establish his non-profit organization

Murali is an Assistant Professor at the Amity Institute of Forestry & Wildlife, located at Amity University in Noida. With a strong passion for ecology and wildlife conservation, Murali plays a crucial role in shaping the minds of graduate students while conducting impactful research in the field of small mammal ecology.

As an Assistant Professor, Murali brings extensive knowledge and expertise to the classroom, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of wildlife ecology and conservation practices. His engaging teaching style and commitment to student mentorship have earned him high praise from both students and colleagues.
